Privacy notice
850 Tax is an online tax service of Dansby CFO Plus, PLLC (d/b/a Dansby CFO+), a Florida CPA firm serving the Pensacola area ("we"). 850 Tax is a registered fictitious name of Dansby CFO Plus, PLLC. This notice explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: your name, email address, mobile phone number and a password (stored only as a one-way hash).
- Your answers to our tax questions, the documents you upload, the questions you answer and the messages you send us.
- Security records: when you sign in, what you upload or download, and the network address you used, so we can protect your account.
- If you pre-sign up for a coming tax year: your first name, your email address and, if you give it, your mobile phone number, and nothing about your taxes.
When you arrive from an ad, we set a first-party cookie to recognise your visit and record the ad's tags. We use this only inside the firm to decide where to advertise, and we never share or sell it.
We do not ask for your Social Security number online. If we need it, we ask for it by phone.
Why we use it
We use your information to prepare your tax return, to contact you about it, to keep your account secure, and to meet our legal and professional duties as a CPA firm. If you arrive from an ad, we also use the ad details described above to decide where the firm advertises. If you pre-sign up, we use those details only to email you when returns for that year open, because you asked us to, and you can ask us to remove them at any time. We do not sell your information, and apart from the one email a pre-sign-up asks for, we do not use it to market to you.
Who can see it
Your information is seen by the CPA preparing your return and by the secure systems of Dansby CFO Plus, PLLC that support that work. We use service providers under contract to run those systems: Google Cloud (hosting, storage and database) and Resend (sending account emails). They process information only on our instructions.
If you book a call with the CPA, you book it on Calendly, the scheduling service the firm uses, which collects the details you enter there to set up the call.
The firm's secure workspace also uses AI services from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, under their business terms, to help the CPA read and review your documents. These providers do not use your information to train their models, and they keep it only briefly, generally no more than 30 days, unless the law or their safety rules require longer.
How we protect it
All connections are encrypted. Two-step sign-in is required. Your documents are stored in private, encrypted storage. Only you, the CPA preparing your return, and the firm's systems and service providers described above can reach them, and every file is checked for malware. We keep a written information security plan as federal rules for tax preparers require.
How long we keep it
Your return records are kept by the firm for as long as the law and professional standards require.
If something goes wrong
If we learn that your personal information was accessed without permission, we will tell you as Florida law requires.
